These toys have passed our rigorous testing with flying colors:

  • Kong Extreme - The gold standard for durability
  • Goughnuts products - With safety indicator technology
  • West Paw Zogoflex toys - Eco-friendly and recyclable
  • Jolly Pets balls - Nearly indestructible and they float
  • Tuffy's Ultimate series - Multi-layered for toughness
  • Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff - Great combination of durability and bounce

The Bad List

These toys didn't hold up to our tough testers:

  • Plush toys without reinforcement - Destroyed in minutes
  • Tennis balls - Abrasive on teeth and easily destroyed
  • Cheap rubber toys - Can break into dangerous chunks
  • Most vinyl toys - Often contain harmful chemicals
  • Soft rope toys - Quickly frayed and ingested
  • Lightweight plastic frisbees - Cracked and splintered
  • Toys with non-poured squeakers only - Immediately extracted and swallowed
  • Thin rubber toys - Torn apart in under 5 minutes
  • Stuffed animals - Not designed for power chewers
  • Any toy labeled "for all dogs" - Usually not tough enough
